The lungs of our bodies are one of the most important life giving organs we have. The lung is extremely intricate and is the largest organ in the body that filters the air in and out of the body. Our body needs oxygen to function properly, and this used up oxygen comes out in form of carbon dioxide, a main function of the lung.
Obviously, if we don’t have our lungs, our bodies can’t exist. Therefore, we want to look at a particular disease that can take out this life sustaining organ. The disease is Lung Cancer and since my father and mother passed away from this deadly disease, it is close to my heart to offer any possible natural treatments for Lung Cancer, prevention methods, or to simply educate people on what they can do to increase Lung Cancer prevention.
Lung Cancer can be defined as an environment in which the cells that create the lungs begin to multiply abnormally which ultimately form a mass in the lungs; a tumor. Cells are the beginning unit of life; they make up every part of our body, multiply through division, and recycle themselves to “reborn” each organ in the body every 3 to 6 months.
Lung Cancer is hostile or said to be malignant in nature. In other words, it can spread to other organs and tissues in the body system through the lymphatic system or the blood stream. Once this occurs, the probability of a body healing from the cells running rampant is very low.
The most common form of Lung Cancer is known as Bronchogenic Carcinoma; the cancer cells arise from the bronchi and bronchioles, which are the cells lining the larger and smaller airways of the lungs. The other forms of Lung Cancer are very rare and come from the pleura or other tissues in the lung like the blood vessels.
Unfortunately, in the United States alone, it is estimated that 1 in 14 male and female will develop Lung Cancer in their life time. Lung Cancer affects the elderly more than the young and over 69% of people aged 65 and above are diagnosed with Lung Cancer.
Lung Cancer Types
There are three major types of Lung Cancer;
1) Small Cell Lung Cancer (SCLC): Makes up almost 20% of all Lung Cancer. SCLC is the most dangerous and the quickest spreading of the Lung Cancers. The devastation of SCLC is that, the disease would become widely spread in the body before symptoms starts to show up. Treatment options would be minimal and death of such person may be forthcoming.
2) Non-Small Cell Lung Cancer (NSCLC): Is the most common and it accounts for about 80% of Lung Cancer conditions. This cancer type is categorized further: Adenocarcinomas (50% of NSCLC cases), Bronchioloalveolar Carcinoma (comes from the wall around the alveolar), Squamous Cell Carcinomas (30% of NSCLC cases), and Large Cell Carcinomas (not common).
3) Bronchial Carcinomas: Very rare type of cancer and occurs in the younger generation.
Lung Cancer Causes
The following are actions or conditions that may contribute to the onslaught of Lung Cancer;
Smoking: Smoking anything into your lungs on daily basis will increase your chances of having Lung Cancer. It also increases free radicals in our body system. Free radicals are the number one causes of cancer and other diseases and reduce the strength of the immune system.
Also, people that live with smokers can develop Lung Cancer from second hand smoke.
Family History: Lung Cancer is much more common with people who have had family members or relatives who have previously been diagnosed, treated or died of Lung Cancer.
Second Time Occurrence: Anyone who was diagnosed and treated for Lung Cancer has a higher rate of having the disease again compared to someone who hasn’t.
Outside Pollution: Our air is filled with pollutants. These dangerous pollutants, when inhaled into the lungs, can create cell division causing the growth of a tumor. Again, the free radicals are the culprit.
Lung Cancer Symptoms
There are no symptoms when Lung Cancer first affects the lungs and not until it is getting to its advanced stages is the afflicted starting to realize the symptoms;
-Heavy and uncomfortable cough
-Severe chest pain
-Hard time breathing
-Difficulty with vision
Lung Cancer Prevention
Ben Mueller & The Balance You Need website has been, for years, trying to educate people on disease prevention. In this case, we want to educate you on how to possibly prevent Lung Cancer.
One of the main determinants of disease are based on how free radicals get into the body and how damaging they are to the body. Free radicals get into the body through pollution, smoking, alcohol, drugs, etc. Free radicals are considered the cause of almost all diseases and ailments that affect us. Unfortunately, most of us will not take action until there is something wrong, so why not get ahead of the game and start detoxifying ourselves now?
The main prevention tactics are;
-If you smoke, Quit Smoking! This is what my father’s Lung Cancer was caused from. He smoked 3 packs a day of “Raleigh Bare Asses” (no filter).
-If there is Lung Cancer in your family, make sure you go for routine check-ups and start using natural supplements to give your body the best defense to prevent the onset of Lung Cancer. We want to use natural supplementation in order to get rid of the toxins that have built up in our bodies.
Lung Cancer and Aloe Vera Use
There is a lot of research that has shown that Aloe Vera usage prolongs the life of cancer patients and also help to fortify the immune system as the immune system is what fights the cancer cells.
The research has shown that Aloe Vera makes the immune system stronger by activating white blood cells that devour free radicals and release anti-cancer substances such as interferon and interleukin.
For those that have already contracted the disease, Aloe Vera has also been shown to reduce the stress and side effects related with some of the Lung Cancer treatments. Secondly, Aloe Vera has been known to reduce such discomfort or pain during the treatments and helps the body absorb the treatment options.
Furthermore, people that have Lung Cancer tend to age quickly. This is where Aloe Vera use can also produce awesome benefits. When using Aloe Vera, the skin rejuvenates and helps the skin stay younger and look more radiant. Bottom line is that Aloe Vera has anti-aging properties and is able to rejuvenate the body back by creating more fibroblast cells under the skin.
Lung Cancer and Other Natural Supplements
We wanted to include a little information here about Quercetin, Black Currant, and Pine Cone Extract. As with any disease, successfully battling Lung Cancer means the patient absolutely needs as strong of an immune system as possible. These three elements have been shown, after 20 years of research, to significantly strengthen the immune system by helping the body produce Dendritic Immune Cells.
Dendritic Immune Cells are the Generals of the immune system and tell the fighter cells where to attack. If a person does not have enough Dendritic Immune Cells, the body has a hard time knowing what to fight or how to even identify cancer cells.
If you would like to read some published research on these three nutrients, visit our Black Currant, Pine Cone Extract, and Quercetin Research page.
