For 17 years, Ben Mueller worked in the stressful industry of International Accounting. Eventually the long hours and time spent away from home while traveling for work took its toll. “My wife and I had just gotten married and we were looking at starting a family,” Ben said. “How was I going to do the job I was doing and be a good father at the same time?”
That’s when Ben was introduced to Life Force. “I was coming off of some major health challenges and a friend of mine suggested that I try Body Balance,” Ben said. “Almost immediately I began sleeping better and my energy shot up.”
Ben didn’t feel that he had time to do the business right away, but he couldn’t help referring the product to others. “I told my neighbor about Body Balance and before long I received a check in the mail,” Ben said. “I couldn’t believe it! Once I had a check in my hand, I knew this was real and I had to see where this thing took me.”
To get his business off the ground, Ben committed to investing just five hours per week. “I was still working full-time in accounting and five hours a week was all the extra time I had, but I made it work.”
Ben’s first year in business was very challenging. “I wanted to do it my own way and I wouldn’t listen to my upline,” Ben said. “I was inviting people into the business based on my needs – what I needed to gain from the relationship – rather than their needs.”
After the first year, Ben experienced a major shift in the way he thought about his business. “When I stopped thinking about what I could gain and focused instead on what I could give, everything changed,” Ben said. “When you focus on how many people you can help, it’s amazing how those people begin to show up in your life.” Suddenly, Ben had more people to talk to than ever before.
And now, almost six years after starting his Life Force business, Ben continues to have an abundance of people with whom to share the products and opportunity. “I look for red flags,” Ben said. Sometimes these red flags present themselves in very interesting ways.
“Recently, my son and I were driving my GT Mustang through the parking lot of Wal-Mart and a guy yelled out ‘Nice car!’,” Ben said. “I approached the man to simply talk about cars and his son said, ‘I want my daddy to have that car’. In the initial conversation, my business wasn’t on my mind, but after I heard his son, I thought this may be an opportunity for me to help. I had a Body Balance sample in my pocket and I handed it to him and told him that the business behind this product might help him achieve this. He’s already called me to find out more about what I am doing.”
“Red flags are simply when a person reveals a need in their lives. It could be that they are suffering from a health challenge, want to spend more time with their family, or even a Mustang. When a person reveals a need, it is very easy and comfortable to suggest that they take a look at Life Force without shoving it down a person’s throat. This way, I am completely focused on if I can be of service to them rather than being of service to me.”
How does one become a Life Force International Leader? Ben’s advice for anyone who is just starting out in this business is to never give up. “Most of us hold ourselves back. Finding a way to move through that is key.” Ben said. “I’ve stuck with it because I knew in my heart that it would be worth it – and I was right, it is worth it.”
