Do you ever wonder how the great feats of human history were created? We know that most of these amazing accomplishments happened through a series of smaller steps. Sometimes thousands or millions of pasitos (little steps) created the conduit to energy so powerful, that it changed the world.
So how does this relate to you? Simple, you can experience these successes through the same means as the great feats of our existence occurred!
At the ripe ol' age of 46 now, I have learned a few things about success and failure;
#1 Persistence is the key to any change or accomplishment. Without it, there is very little chance you will truly attain who or where you were meant to be. Whether it is being a great husband, succeeding financially (whatever that means to you), or being the best damn chess player you can be, you need the persistence factor. If you do not have the gas, sooner or later you will give up. Truth be told.
#2 Just follow the path one step at a time. But what if that step is “failure”? What I have learned is that failure is usually part of the steps. The path may divert for a minute, but if you have your intentions set in motion, the path will light up!
Point is, enjoy this journey. For years I was stuck in the “end game” thinking and just looked at the present moment as fleeting and something to grind through. Knowing the truth now that seriously enjoying the moments, has opened up my life in a way that I never imagined. I hope you can experience it also…
What's up with the weight loss picture? It is a pure example of how the concept of persistence and one step at a time thinking can eventually lead to an end goal.
In my case, I had gained and lost close to 300 pounds in the last 25 years. I was NEVER able to keep the weight off until I started thinking in small steps and persistent enough to know that; if I kept moving down the path, I would get to where I wanted to go. Two and a half years later, I still have the weight loss off and each step maintains the achievement.
Great feats happen because of small steps. Enjoy the, moment by moment process. Most importantly, NEVER give up.
